GE reveal® Light Bulbs Review

Sometimes it's the simple things that can take your home from beautiful to stunning...Good lighting is one of the easiest ways you can breathe new life into a room. GE Lighting introduced a new, groundbreaking LED light bulb to it's line of GE reveal® bulbs.  The new bulb had the familiar size and shape of an incandescent bulb but deliver a color-enhanced spectrum of light that really showcases the color and beauty of your rooms.  The new GE reveal® LED light bulbs are the best energy-efficient light bulbs, lasting more than a decade based on three hours of use each day. They will be offered in 40- and 60-watt replacements, as well as the popular BR-30 shape for recessed fixture down-lighting.

By January 2014, standard incandescent light bulbs of 40 watts and above will no longer be sold in the United States due to their energy inefficiency and changing energy regulations. The new GE reveal® LED will be a great alternative to incandescent bulbs, in addition to various other energy-efficient light bulbs that GE already currently offers.

Like other GE reveal® light bulbs, the new GE reveal® LED filters out dull yellow rays, enhancing the colors and patterns in your home that may normally go unnoticed under standard incandescent light. By replacing your home's existing lighting with GE reveal® bulbs, every room will have a more enhanced, vivid surrounding light. For example, with reveal®, the colors in your living room will appear brighter and pop. In your bathroom, colors will look less yellow. GE reveal® bulbs transform a room from ordinary to extraordinary.

GE reveal® bulbs are available at retailers such as Home Depot, Lowes, Target, and Walmart, among others. This Fall 2013, GE is collaborating with retailers to provide special discounts for customers to create their own quick and easy makeover by purchasing reveal® light bulbs. GE reveal® light bulbs come in various options including energy-efficient halogen and CFL (compact fluorescents) with the new LEDs available this September.

I had the opportunity to try the new GE reveal® bulbs to create a room makeover of my own.  I decided to try them out in a bathroom...I hate the yellowy tint my old bulbs gave the room, and is always a shocker when you check yourself in the mirror before leaving and then see what you really look like in the natural light in the car. 

The GE reveal® bulbs do a better job of illuminating the entire room and the light is more natural and white than the bulbs we were using.  I love how clean and bright it makes the room look!  

And of course the savings which you can't see are important too...These bulbs use 28% less energy, which means lower energy bills!
