Thrifty Thursday: Dryer Sheet Alternatives

Here is this week's Thrifty Thursday post from my buddy Michelle over at My Kansas City Mommy.  This week she was looking for a Dryer Sheet Alternative:

This week I decided to give a few of the dryer sheet alternatives a try - I love my home made laundry detergent which contains Purex crystals.  But I have found that my house is so dry that it isn't keeping all the static away, which is a bit irritating so I am going to share a couple of new recipes I found that address that issue.  Oh and as a bonus I will share my favorite Febreze Fake Out recipe too.  So little time and soooo many great home made options to share.  Again I like these things as then I know with all certainty what is going into my families environment and it isn't a ton of harsh chemicals.  I also get to control the "smell" of the laundry this way too, which is a big BONUS.  You know the drill, if you like these recipes and tips make sure to follow us on Pinterest and Facebook and sign up for our daily email.
Version #1 -
Use 2-3 Dish Cloths or Wash Cloths
Place the Wash Cloths in a Container that seals tightly with a lid
Combine 1 Cup Vinegar, 1 TBSP Baking Soda, 1/2-1 Cup Water and 4-5 Drops of Essential Oil in a Measuring Cup
Pour Vinegar & Baking Soda Mixture over the Wash Cloths
Seal the Container and Shake to completely cover the Washcloths
Remove and Let Air Dry
Once Dry toss in the Dryer with your Clothes
Version #2 -
Use 2-3 Old Towels, Dish Cloths or Wash Cloths
Place the Wash Cloths in a Container that seals tightly with a lid
Combine 1/2 Cup Liquid Fabric Softener with 1 Cup Water
Pour mixture over the Wash Cloths
Seal the Container and Shake to completely cover the Washcloths
Remove and Let Air Dry
Once Dry toss these in Dryer with your Clothes :)

Version #3 -

Use 1 Sponge
Combine 1 cup Liquid Fabric Softener with 1 Cup Water in a Container that seals with a lid
Put Sponge in Container and let Soak for a couple of hours
When ready to use, Ring out most of the liquid and Toss Sponge in the Dryer
After clothes are done put Sponge Back in Liquid for next Load
I tried VERSION NO 1 - one word of caution - your house will smell like vinegar while this is drying but..... I am actually pleasantly surprised by the way it works in the dryer and it no longer smells like vinegar - my clothes smell great.  I used lemon essential oil as that is what I had on hand from making my own carpet fresh.
