Steps to Save - Step 7 - Shopping CVS

We ended yesterday on Step 6 to saving - Shopping Target.  The next place we will talk about saving at is CVS. 

CVS has a couple things to remember when shopping there:

1. CVS has a Rewards Card called an Extra Care Card. With this card you can earn Extra Care Bucks (ECB) by :

a. earning 2% back on ever in store and online purchase (these will print out every 3 months from the register or you can print them out online)

b. specific items in store weekly

c. 1 extra care buck for every 2 prescriptions filled

*An example of an Extra Care Buck transaction:

Right Guard Sport or Total Defense 2-4 oz $2.99 (Limit 3)
use coupon
Printable Coupon save $1.50/1 Right Guard Total Defense 5 (facebook coupon)
Pay out of pocket - $1.49

Get $2 ECB back with receipt

Final Price: $0.51 Money maker!

*Extra Care Bucks are great to use on purchases that you do not have coupons for, like milk and bread, or to lower out of pocket. Once you get a couple bucks, keep doing transactions that give you bucks so you are always making money!

2. They have their own CVS coupons. These coupons can be found in a couple places:

a. their own magazine - Reinventing Beauty - you an buy this in stores or sometimes when the new editions come out, your store might have just the coupon sheets (or full magazines) to give away

b.  online  - some of the coupons are CVS and some are manufacture.  Look for ones that say CVS Pharmacy or when they are printed off they will say Store Coupon or Manufacture Coupon

c. In the Red Coupon Machine in their stores - just scan your CVS card when you walk in

d. Blinkies and peelies in the store!

3. Know their policies for Extra Care Bucks and coupon use - You an use a CVS coupon and a Manufacture coupon and get back Extra Care Bucks all in one transaction!

Also, take a look at your receipt to make sure your Extra Care Bucks (ECBs) printed off, if not ask them to print them off for you right then or ask for the number to call to get them.
