Last week we went through Steps 4 and 5 - Shopping the Commissary and Walmart - two of the easier stores to shop in that they only accept manufacture coupons and you have no rewards cards, etc. to worry about - it's all pretty straight forward shopping and saving. :)
Next on my list of easy to hard is Target. When shopping at Target things get a little more involved as now you have Target coupons! (of course "more involved" can equal "more savings")
There are 3 very important things to remember when shopping Target:
1. You CAN stack a manufacture coupon and a Target Web coupon for more savings! A great deal out right now is :
Vaseline Intensive Rescue Lotion 10 oz $2.69
Printable Target Coupon save $1.50/1
Printable Coupon save $1.00/1 Vaseline Aloe Fresh (if included in sale)
Final Price, $0.19 when you use both coupons
*If Vaseline Aloe Fresh is included you can stack the Target and Manufacture Printables for $2.50 in savings!
2. Know the Coupon Policy and bring it with you! Target has been widely known to be a little difficult when it comes to certain parts of their coupon policy - and usually it becomes "up to the manager's discretion"....
*Target will take 1 Target coupon and 1 Manufacture coupon per item
*Internet Printed coupons are accepted
*Coupons will be reduced if they exceed the cost of an item
(problems sometimes come up when the wording on the coupons are interpreted differently...some say one per purchase...one side believes this means 1 Target Coupon per item....others believe this means only 1 coupon per item....ugghhh)
3. WATCH THE REGISTER! Due to the strange way Target coupons ring up at the register, it's hard to make sure each coupon goes through, but do your best to watch closely! I have had MANY coupons not go through and the cashiers usually just take them without any mention of them not going through correctly. There were also MANY posts recently on the computer automatically reducing coupons too much. So watch, ask questions, and look over your receipt before you leave.
