Yesterday I gave you a quick overview of tips to shopping at the Commissary with the highlights being:
-know the coupon policy (important parts being - they do not stack "military store" coupons and "manufacture" coupons and yes, they do give overage)
-Use that overage to help bring down your grocery bill!
Tonight I thought I'd just give you a little more information you could use to save at the Commissary.
- This site is where I get my list of sale items at the Commissary. You can even pick your own specific base so you know what the Manager Specials are for the week.
-There are menu/recipe ideas and other food information like healthy eats, etc.
-Case Lot Sales List - see the chat wall for great case lot sale tips and leave your own!
-There is also a newsletter you can sign up for that has tips and information
2. MaxiSaverGroup.com is another website I visit for the Commissary ad and for "Military Store" coupons. This is the paper ad you can sometimes get in the papers on base.
3. Sign up for the Family Unit P&G Coupon Booklet for military coupons and a donation to the USO every time you use their coupons.
4. Kraft Military Site - Kraft items new and on sale at the Commissary, recipe ideas, and sometimes coupons!
Anything we missed? Thanks for the great questions/comments from yesterday's post. Here are some of the comments:
1. Know the policy, print and take it with you!!! I will e-mail the Commissary to ask some specifics about internet printables, but they should be accepted, as many as you want to use! Catalinas from other stores should also be taken, but this is not widely known/accepted by cashiers for some reason.
2. I mentioned I found chicken cheapest at the Commissary...I was thinking of the fresh packaged chicken (well...at least the unfrozen kind...). Does anyone know if the frozen 10 lb. bags are cheaper somewhere else? I'll check on it to when I'm out this weekend so we know a good price is for chicken :)
3. And someone else also agrees with me about checking commissaries.com, but they warned that sometimes the prices are a little different in store and other times you can find better deals in the stores - so bring that binder! :)
