Save on Eating Out with your Receipt!
A great reader, Jessica, sent me this great e-mail!
Hi! I wanted to pass on a savings tip that saves me a ton of money at restaurants. When you get a receipt from many restaurants, there is an offer on it to take a survey, and an incentive like a free drink or free sandwich. The best ones that I am aware of are:
Arbys- Every single receipt printed, on the back there is a phone number to call and you get a free roast beef sandwich or beef n' cheddar, no purchase necessary. I always buy an order of fries, get my receipt for the fries, and get my free sandwich a couple minutes later after I've had time to do the survey. That whole meal only costs what I paid for the fries!
Sonic- Most but not all Sonic receipts have a phone number to call for a survey, and you receive a free 44 ounce drink no purchase necessary. I've even turned in a receipt for a free drink didn't buy anything else, and gotten another receipt for a free drink.
O'Charleys- Free appetizer (excluding the sampler) with the purchase of an entree when you fill out the survey and enter the code.
Chickfila- Free chicken sandwich when you fill out the survey, no purchase necessary. Not on all receipts though.
A few others just have chances to win money, but those are the big ones. I know most people don't even look at their receipts, but I've figured out to check every fast food receipt I get to see if there's an offer! Most people don't know how much free food they're throwing away by not keeping those receipts!
*Thanks so much Jessica! What a great way to stretch your "eating out dollars"!

Burger King has one too - free whopper or chicken sandwich when you buy any size drink and fries. I keep these receipts in my car so that I always have one if I have a busy day and have to eat on the run.

Great tips! Thanks!
