Test the Deal - Tuesday June 15
I started writing this post when I received a couple requests to compare grocery store deals to the commissary. I am very lucky to have many stores very close to me and I love to search out a good deal by comparing. So I decided to compare the hot sales and coupons out. If you want certain deals compared or certain item, just send me an e-mail or comment below. :)
I wrote a post on Sunday and, based on the ads in the paper, told you which stores were having the best deals. I checked on the same items at the commissary and this is what I found:
Diapers: Rite Aid is still the winner! Hard to top $1.99 diapers!
Rite Aid
Huggies Diapers
Sale $8.99
Stack with Printable Save $3.00/1 or Printable $2.50/1 (Pure & Natural Diapers)
SCR $2
+UP Reward $1
Video Values May $1
Final Price as Low as $1.99
Body Wash (for Men) : My commissary does not carry Nivea body wash, but I'm sure it's hard to compete against making $3 with each purchase!
Walgreens
Nivea for Men Active 3 Body Wash $5.99
Receive $5.99 Register Reward
-$3 from 5/2 RP
Final Price: FREE with $3 profit
(rumor has it some are finding these B1G1 and are making a $5.99 profit! after using 2 coupons)
Razors: Because of register reward Walgreens wins this one too. The razor is less than $3 at the commissary after the same coupon.
Walgreens
Schick Hydro Razor $7.99
Receive $4.00 Register Reward
-$5 from 6/13 SS
Final Price: FREE with $1.01 profit
Shampoo: The commissary is the winner..use the same coupon to get each shampoo or conditioner for under $0.50! I tried it this week and like it so far.
Walgreens
John Frieda 3/$15 receive $5 in Register Rewards
Use 3 $2.50/1 coupons found here (will need access to 2 accounts/computers)
Final Cost: $0.83 each
Cereal: Honey Nut Cheerios is on sale at the Commissary. Hard to compare as they are almost even if you take in to account you are buying a larger box at the Commissary for about a $1 more after coupons. Other General Mills cereals vary (I bought Lucky Charms there today and found it kind of expensive and could have gotten a better deal at CVS)
CVS
General Mills cereal, granola bars or cereal bars 3/$10
Get $4 ECB wyb 3
(06/06 SS) save $1.00/2 variety of coupons
Printable Coupon save $1.00/2
Printable Coupon save $0.55/1 Honey Nut Cheerios & Lucky Charms
Final Price: $1.45-$1.50
*I would like to change the day of this Test the Deal to Sunday to go along with the Where to Shop and Save post. What do you think?

I think this post is great! Thanks for doing all the leg work! I wouldn't mind if you included this post with Sunday's post. It would go well together.
Great! Thanks for the feedback :)
Thank you for this post. And I am fine if you change these to Sundays. Thanks so much!
