Amber, a reader out of Texas, just wrote to me to share a great experience of sharing an ultrasound live with her deployed husband. I couldn't wait to share this with you, such a great event! Here is what she wrote:
My husband is currently deployed and I just had an ultrasound at a place in Fort Worth called A Miracle to Behold. They do a special sonogram that is called "sonostream live" and your deployed spouse can watch the ultrasound from anywhere in the world over the internet.
We just got done with our ultrasound and it was such a great experience that I thought it should be shared with others in the military community. My husband and I both got to hear, "It's a ___!" together (I'm not spilling the beans, I'll let Amber do all the announcing to friends and family :) ). They also offer a 15% military discount and have different packages to choose from. It was great and it was a big pick me up for my husband.
They said that there is a link on the website where you can find more of these in different states. They are all independently owned and are the only ones that do the sonostream live.
Thanks again Amber!
*And of course, even if you are keeping the sex of the baby a mystery until the delivery, the ultrasound itself is still a great thing to share! I loved the look on my husband's face when he finally got to see what I had been seeing while he was in training for all the first ultrasounds, a baby not just a big belly!
Please keep sending suggestions, feedback and sharing great deals and information!
