Monday Money Saving Message - June 21
Last week's Money Saving Message was about setting up a separate e-mail account just for newsletters and freebies. I told you that I fought doing this for awhile, but was amazed at how much easier it made things and how much more I was able to save due to e-mailed coupons and heads up on discounts and sales.
Today's message is another money saving tip I was not quick to sign up for...literally. Right before you pay at most places you hear the dreaded words..."Do you have a _(fill in the blank with many store names__) rewards/mvp/vip/savings/etc. card?" As you look at the long line behind you, you make some excuse why you do not and try to hurry up the transaction. Next time, stop and sign up!
Sign up for every loyalty program you can, at least the free ones! I save so much by just using those little cards, I can't believe I waited! They are not just for grocery stores anymore, check retail stores (American Eagle, New York & Co), and Restaurants (TGIFridays). Some of my favorites:
-Panera Bread Loyalty Card - free pastry when I signed up (online after I got home with my card), particular deals just for card members (like B1G1 pastries a couple weeks ago),and a free one on my birthday
-Sephora-Beauty Insider- $1=1 point and you can trade in your points for free samples and get a free sample on your birthday!
-Borders- Save 20% when you join, get e-mailed coupons almost every week, get a birthday gift, and that's just the beginning!
-CVS, Rite Aid, Walgreens - all great loyalty cards that save you lots of money...stay tuned for the perks of these programs written out in terms we all will understand :)
-Any grocery store that offers them! Why not? They are free and save me money, like coupons :)
So next time they ask say, "Sure" or at least get the information and sign up yourself at home!
