Gift Idea (in the Clearance Section)
I love making my own gift baskets for gifts. I like to tailor them to the particular person and the specific reason for the gift. When I am out couponing or finding free items, I think about what I can use for me and for upcoming gifts.
A gift basket I just made was for a House Warming present, that could also double as a graduation/going to college gift. I think of all the gifts I received before college and moving in to my first apartment, these kinds of gifts were my favorite (and I still pray my older sister will do this for me at each place I move! ha,ha).
I found the above laundry basket for $4.18! (**Ugghh...the picture is not working, it's blue w/ white handles and I'll put up a picture of it tomorrow! sorry!)
So now that I have found the "basket", I'm off to find items to put in the basket (hopefully free or on Sale, BIG SALE). Here are some clearance ideas:
-Target Towels - $3.94
-Target Hand Towels - $2.98
-Target Wash Cloth - $2.48
-Target Contour Rug - $6.98
-Target Bath Mat - $6.98
*These alone would fill up the basket and make anyone getting ready to move out on their own or to a new place happy :)
I like to add items that are needed, but sometimes not thought of when moving (and we all know military mommies know what is needed in a move!!!)
-paper towels (try Bounty Basic or Viva...use coupons to make them free or very close!)
-Shower liners- always needed, but rarely thought of until you are ready to shower!
-Drawer liners - nice to have in a rental and needed before you can unpack the all important dishes
-Speaking of plates...paper plates, napkins, and plastic silverware is also nice for those first days of pizza and sandwiches (or for college kids - all the time!)
-Easy snack food to keep everyone happy
- wine or mixers (we all know it's nice to have at the end of the move...for adults only! And it's all on clearance at Target)
I could go on and on (I really love this type of gift), but I think you get the picture! :)
